Horizons to offer new look
Staff -- Home Accents Today, 4/1/2005
In what co-owner Jeffrey Walsh calls a change in the company's direction, Horizons International Accents will introduce a dozen collections at the International Home Furnishings Market in High Point, N.C., this month.
Under a new division called Beyond Horizons, the collections offer a broad range of products in pottery, wood and metal to appeal to furniture and specialty stores.
"We are stepping out of the traditional Horizons look," Walsh said. "We had limited what we offered to the cultural traditions of carving and pottery of our supplies. We had stayed in such a narrow niche we had limited ourselves."
The new collections have names like Dawn to Dusk, Fossil, H2O and the chemical symbols for gold and silver, Au and Ag. About 160 SKUs are being introduced in High Point. Walsh designed all the collections.
As part of the redirection of the company, Walsh said the number of traditional Horizons SKUs being offered will be reduced over time, although the company will continue to offer the Thai style of pottery and wood carvings.
Horizons shows in the C&D building, 4th floor.
Pieces from The Seared Band Collection, far left, and the Fossil Collection are two of 12 being introduced in Beyond Horizons.
