A Stitch in Time
Fine art collector Kristin Miles Habing proved herself very generous when she decided to share the spoils of her own private collection. Under Glass, Habing's new wall decor collection, spotlights eye-catching marine and botanical themes printed on imported French paper. Based on original, antique engravings ranging from 150 to 300 years old, the limited edition prints and giclees provide a glimpse into a bygone era chock full of style and charm. Under Glass will make its official trade show debut at the Los Angeles Gift Show this summer, with retail prices ranging from $110 to $800. eLink 590

Light Plus
Kovacs-Wesner Design Group and Concept Marketing Group have announced their relationship targeting the expansion of the George Kovacs brand into a collection of furniture and assorted home furnishings. George Kovacs, a leader in contemporary lighting for 51 years, is looking to translate this signature modern style into the home beyond lighting. "We believe it is a natural progression to design not only the lighting for the environment, but also the furnishings," said Alecia Wesner, president of Kovacs-Wesner Design Group. The aesthetic will be distinctive and modern, meshing with the lighting designs. "Feeding off the success of the Joseph Lamps (pictured), George and I felt it was logical to extend the aesthetic of this group," Wesner said. "The furniture is expected to complement a variety of interior design styles just as the lamps did." eLink 589
Fairytale Bedding
Sleeping Buddha, a new soft goods collection from artist and illustrator Martha Bone, marked its worldly, modern debut at the Home Textiles Show in New York this past April. The adventurous spirit of Bone's travels (Egypt, Nepal, Thailand, India, Peru) shine through in her first presentation. The Long Life Endless Love Collection features the endless knot motif, a symbol of the interconnectedness of all things, stamped on rich dupioni silk in Chinese red, turquoise and gold. The Ten Thousand Buddha Collection is arrayed in the vivid, shimmering colors of India — raspberry, marigold and saffron. Retail prices range from $80 to $460. eLink 587
Rugs Revisited
Mat the Basics debuted its collection of transitional and contemporary designs to the U.S. market last year. While the company has maintained a presence in Europe for more than 50 years, the American market is being introduced to the innovative, textural collection that combines Old World tradition with modern designs. Sophisticated and warm, an updated color palette and organic prints adhere to the current-day philosophy of casual and relaxed living without sacrificing sophistication. The newest collection from Mat the Basics of felted wool berber pushes the limit in tactile. Refined and stylish, each Mat the Basics rug is made entirely by hand. eLink 586
Modern Arrangements
Belgian-born floral designer Nico de Swert has published his first book, Living with Flowers. Gloriously photographed, the ultimate coffee table book features page after page of stunningly creative arrangements segmented by color. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Antwerp, de Swert moved to New York City where he worked as a floral designer and interior stylist for magazines such as Victoria, Martha Stewart Living and InStyle. De Swert describes his book as an inspirational book, not a how-to book. "It's an inspiration for people to see that you can do something that is different than normal," he said, adding that in Europe, flowers are a long-standing tradition and an integral part of the culture. "In Europe, (the arrangement of flowers) has been elevated to an art form, and that's what I would like to bring here." Retail price is $40. eLink 585
