Richard Olmeda has been promoted to executive vice president at Magnussen Home Furnishings. He was formerly senior vice president of sales.
In the new position, Olmeda will guide Magnussen Home's strategic direction with a focus on merchandising and expansion into new product categories. He was formerly responsible for sales, merchandising and demand planning.
"Over the past six years, Richard's management of our sales and merchandising function has been instrumental in quadrupling the size of Magnussen Home," said Jeff Cook, Magnussen Home president and CEO. "During this period, Richard has put together a superior sales and merchandising team to drive our business on a day-to-day basis. His leadership is critical to our plan to grow beyond $300 million in sales during the next three to five years.
"The dynamics of the marketplace continue to change faster than at any time in our industry's history," Cook added. "This requires a completely different approach in product offerings. Richard's 30-plus years of experience on a higher level will allow us to react with lightning speed to the needs of our customers and to strategically direct our new business initiatives."
