Merchandise Mart to hold sample sale

Staff -- Home Accents Today, 9/1/2005

The Merchandise Mart Design Center, a Chicago resource reserved for interior designers, architects and builders, opens its trade-only floors to the general public for the bi-annual Merchandise Mart Design Center Sample Sale, Saturday, Oct. 1.

Shoppers will find everything from lighting and rugs to fine artwork and high-end, couture furniture, from brands including Interior Crafts, TCD/Ello Furniture, Holly Hunt, Henredon, Grange and Beacon Hill.

"For many design-savvy consumers, the Sample Sale is an opportunity to purchase beautiful furniture and accessories that give their homes a professional designer look at discounts of up to 75%," said Jeanne Fisher, managing director of marketing, Design Center, Merchandise Mart Properties Inc.

The Merchandise Mart, 8th floor is open for the sale to the design trade only Friday, Sept. 30, from 9 a.m.–5 p.m. and open to the public Saturday, Oct. 1, from 10 a.m.–6 p.m.. Admission for the public is $5.
