A happening week

Becky Boswell Smith -- Home Accents Today, 10/1/2005

Remember the old TV show, That Was The Week That Was?

It feels that way to me now as we prepare for the October market in High Point, N.C.; for many of our readers it's the major market of the year.

This time High Point is shaping up a bit differently. There's a Street Party with Edwin McCain performing Wednesday night, our Thursday night party (be sure to put it on your calendar) and a super concert Saturday night featuring the Neville Brothers from New Orleans with brother Aaron out front.

Martha Stewart is making an appearance, Jonathan Adler is here and HGTV host Doug Wilson is introducing a collection.

If those are not enough new and different happenings for High Point, there's widespread speculation that a survey the High Point Market Authority conducted of exhibitors and retailers who attend market will result in moving market dates from April and October to March and September.

If a change is announced, it well may come during market.

This indeed may be The Week That Was. Stay tuned.

Gee, wonder what caused all this extraordinary activity in High Point?
