Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team will honor Clive Lubner, chief executive officer of Robb & Stucky Interiors, with the Academy of Achievement Award at the ARTS Awards Jan. 21.
Lubner and the Mariner Group purchased Robb & Stucky in 1979 when it was a single-store general merchandise emporium in Fort Myers, Fla. Under his leadership, Robb & Stucky has evolved into a nationally recognized, interior design and home furnishings retailer. The company has expanded to 22 stores in Florida, Texas and Arizona and is a Top 100 furniture retailer.
Robb & Stucky was one of the first stores to group product in lifestyle vignettes, rather than by manufacturer, changing an industry-wide practice.
The retailer has been honored with numerous industry awards, including being named one of House Beautiful's "Top Five Furniture Stores" in the United States. Robb & Stucky also is a charter member of the ARTS Awards Hall of Fame, having been honored in the East/Atlantic Furniture Store category six times.
"I am certainly delighted by this honor," Lubner said. "The accomplishments of Robb & Stucky are based on the innovative ideas and successful execution by our stellar team. Thank you, we are all grateful for this industry recognition."
The Academy of Achievement Award will be presented at a gala event during the Dallas International Gift and Home Accessories Market.
"Clive Lubner has spent more than 25 years building Robb & Stucky into a top-tier retail operation through savvy marketing, pioneering visual merchandising and incomparable customer service," said Bill Winsor, president and CEO of DMC. "We congratulate Clive on his inspiring success."
