Really listening
Becky Boswell Smith -- Home Accents Today, 7/1/2005
Blog or Weblog is the new, hot word in contemporary lexicon.
Everyone, it seems, from the local newspaper to the city council-woman to retailers like Homescapes, Carmel to us at Home Accents Today, is embracing the word — and the process.
For those of you who, like me, struggle with staying up-to-date on the incredible advances of the Internet, the blog or blogging is an ugly word for communicating directly and interactively with readers or customers or constituents.
We've started it here as part of a major initiative to help our readers increase their business through the Internet. Right now we have two bloggers — our retail editor Lisa Casinger and the Retail Ideas editor Loreen Epp. Each of them is sharing information and frustrations about retailing and eager to hear your thoughts.
It's easy to find on our Web site — just click on the Weblog button at the top of the homepage. Read their opinions and give us yours.
What we hope to get from this is information about what's important to you. We'll use that information to improve the quality of our print pages and our Web site.
Check us out and tell Lisa or Loreen (or me) what you're thinking.
