The Encore Group has acquired the intellectual rights and properties of gift and home decor company Figi.

The acquisition includes all patents, trademarks, brand names and customer information. The company includes Michel & Company, a baby and special occasion gift line, and J.W. Stannard, a line of windchimes, in addition to Figi.

Encore acquired United Design last October. The company also owns Living Stone, Rawcliffe, XPress, Papel Giftware and Rawcliffe.

"I am delighted to see the Figi name back in the hands of true giftware professionals with an entrepreneurial spirit, work ethic, experience, understanding and drive to put Figi back on top in the giftware industry," said Todd Figi.

Eldredge Hanes, Encore Group chairman, said no decision has been made on how many of the Figi brands will be incorporated into the Encore business plan, though the company is "dedicated to maintaining and expanding on the relationships between itself and the thousands of fine Figi customers."

Debbie Galante, former Figi vice president of sales, and Colleen O'Neill, former director of product development, will be joining the Encore organization.
