Oriental Weavers Group has merged its North American import (Sphinx) and domestic manufacturing (OW America) operations.
"The move will allow the company to fully utilize the assets of each organization and insure the most beneficial solutions for our customers by capitalizing on our synergies," said Mike Riley, who has been named president of the combined operations. "In continuing to grow Oriental Weavers into a truly global organization, we will employ a concerted strategic focus to capitalize on our various operations in the U.S., Egypt and Asia."
The company also is expanding its operations into Turkey, Lebanon and Indonesia.
"As we move forward globalizing our business and shifting into additional home categories, we will maximize the talents of employees, partners and team members around the world to solidify our competitive advantage in the U.S.," Riley said.
All sales, marketing, and manufacturing functions will now operate as one company. The company will continue to market products under the Sphinx and OW America brand names.
