Shadow Mountain sets gallery program

Importer Shadow Mountain is launching a gallery program called Unique Living.
"As our direct container program continues to grow, dealers want to expose Shadow Mountain in a positive atmosphere," said Chad Turney, president and CEO of the three-year-old startup. "We need a gallery setting to show the variety and breadth of our collection."
The gallery supports the container inventory program, he added. The company's line includes case goods, occasional and lighting in rustic and casual styles. It also offers settees, rockers and occasional chairs in leather covers, and plans to launch fabric upholstery in the spring.
The gallery program requires retailers to order a minimum of four container loads per year. Dealers can then purchase fill-in orders from Shadow Mountain's warehouse at the same reduced container pricing. Galleries must be at least 800 square feet.
"This can be used to display bedroom, living room, dining, occasional, accent chairs, accessories and lighting — a little from all of our product offerings," Turney said.
But he said he doesn't want to stymie retailers' creativity. Stores can "intermingle" products from other manufacturers within the gallery setting, he said.
Shadow Mountain will offer signage only to support the gallery.
