In January, House Inc. will extend the line with velvet throws and duvets, satin flanged pillows, and synthetic rabbit and satin offerings. True Calling
Creating luxury items for living and entertaining is the credo of new home vendor Joseph Thomas. True, the company's first collection of candles and fragranced botanicals, scored a "smash success" with its chocolate suede boxed candles and organic arrangements, according to owner Craig Stephenson. Complex, perfume-based scents like Willow, Thistle & Moss, Lychee Nut and Jacaranda are among the original nine offerings that layer in any (or all) combinations. Snow, a mix of peppermint and cucumber, debuts in January as the final fragrance. "I eliminated food scents from the line," Stephenson said. "If you want your house to smell like pie, bake a pie." Complementing the decidedly distinctive fragrances, the masculine, luxe look of the packaging has drawn both male and female shoppers. Up next, Joseph Thomas plans to roll out bath and entertaining collections ($40 to $50, candles; $60 to $70, botanicals). eLink 544
