Charles Sadek Import Co., along with its Andrea by Sadek and J. Willfred divisions, is closing its Manhattan showroom and relocating product display to its New Rochelle headquarters.
Starting with the winter markets, the home decor and gift vendor also will expand its showroom presence at AmericasMart Atlanta and at the Javits Center in New York.
In January 2007, it will open another showroom in building two of the World Market Center in Las Vegas, said Adam Schrier, director of sales and marketing.
The moves reflect changes in the overall marketplace and in the New York area, where Sadek has been a presence in the gift industry for 70 years. Sadek's former permanent showroom neighbor 225 Fifth Avenue has been converted to residential development and showrooms have scattered from the area.
"We are undertaking all these changes now in order to better serve our customer base — creating larger and better displays where our buyers shop," President Jim Sadek said. "Atlanta is a hugely successful market attended by buyers nationwide, so we are making this our premier showroom. We feel, as well, that Javits is the heart and energy of the New York marketplace, hence our enormous expansion there."
The company's existing metro New York customers should find the New Rochelle headquarters an easier location for doing business outside of markets, Schrier said. "During markets, the energy of the Javits Center and our ability to find new customers will be greater," he said.
