When Michele Mangiacotti found old love letters in the attic of her Victorian Attleboro, Mass., office, she realized she'd stumbled upon a treasure. Using the letters as inspiration, she developed a new line, Letters, which until recently was sold exclusively at Anthropoligie. The line debuted in January in Atlanta.
Wildflower is one of the scents in the Letters line.
Each scent takes its story from a letter Antonio sent to his wife Rachel in 1943. Wildflower is based on the wreath Antonio sent describing his travels to the island of Naxos. Lavender is reminiscent of his visit to the countryside of Provence; Ocean blue comes from his trip to the Almeria coast in Spain, while Lemon verbena is a reminder of the case of lemons he sent her from Sorrento, Italy.
The line includes glycerin soap, shea butter lotion, hand soap and a soy candle at retail price points of $8 to $16. Mangiacotti scanned the letters and stamps to create the packaging for Letters.
Letters is being distributed separately from Mangiacotti Florals through Galway sales rep showrooms.
