The former Ice House building is being torn down to create more free buyer parking for the spring market.
Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. said the demolition of the vacant structure will nearly double the capacity of the parking lot at Lindsay and Kivett streets to as many as 500 vehicles. The lot will be free to buyers for the market.
"(MMPI) continues to seek out opportunities to enhance buyer services at the High Point market," said Tom Mitchell, MMPI senior vice president.
