Oriental Weavers names Belak VP of sales; Sphinx adds two to sales posts

Oriental Weavers USA has promoted Sam Belak to the position of vice president of sales for its Oriental Weavers of America brand.
In his new position, Belak will be responsible for the management and development of the North American importer/manufacturer's segments of business including home centers, mass merchants, and national retail channels. He will report directly to Mike Riley, president of Oriental Weavers USA, Inc.
Belak has been with Sphinx by Oriental Weavers for more than eight years as the vice president of sales for the Northeast. Prior to joining the company, he was with Shaw Industries for 10 years in various management capacities.
"Sam has a keen understanding of the market and the direction Oriental Weavers is moving globally," Riley said. "His leadership and proven success in management and market development will play a pivotal role in furthering the company's mission and growth strategy."
In other news, Sphinx has named David Matamoros southeast regional manager and Tom Monaghan as national accounts director.
Bringing more than 21 years experience to the team, Matamoros will lead the southeastern region overseeing and developing the territory.
Prior to joining Sphinx, Matamoros was with Beaulieu as the executive vice president of home centers and most recently with Monticello Carpets as the national sales manager.
Monaghan brings more than 23 years experience to his new post as national accounts director for Sphinx. He comes to Sphinx from Karastan where he served in various capacities over the last 12 years including regional rug specialist, regional rug account manager and national accounts manager.
