Uttermost opens California DC

The Uttermost Company has opened a new distribution facility in Riverside, Calif.

The West Coast distribution facility serves customers in 11 western states and key accounts throughout the U.S., as well as open up additional distribution capacity from the company's Rocky Mount, Va., facility.

Construction of the new 152,000-sq.-ft. facility was completed in April. The facility includes state of the art distribution systems and material handling equipment.

"We're very excited to have this West Coast operation to better serve our West Coast customers," said Mac Cooper, president and CEO. "This new distribution center will hold our entire product line and should allow us to reduce ship times to West Coast customers by 50% by June."

Cooper also expects increased business from the expansion. "The freight savings that customers from the West will receive is very significant, especially with fuel prices continuing to rise," he said. "The freight savings and reduced lead times will make the buying decision much easier."
