Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. has unveiled a multi-faceted branding and marketing strategy for its gift and home business.
The Chicago Market: Living & Giving is the message and identity that will launch with the January 2007 market and a new logo design will support the initiative.
"The Chicago Market: Living & Giving defines what's next and affirms our deep commitment to the gift and home industry," said Joan Ulrich, senior vice president, MMPI. "With an evolved focus on products and resources reflecting consumer lifestyle trends, buyers will enjoy an array of educational, entertainment and networking events to ensure a strong return on investment of their time and resources."
Merchandise Mart executives announced The Chicago Market: Living & Giving branding and strategy to its tenants, industry partners and journalists at a by invitation gathering in Chicago last month.
"Living encompasses lifestyle, as dynamic and active," Ulrich said. "Giving is the experiential act of sharing emotion and feelings. By combining the two — Living & Giving — we intend to convey renewed value and heightened energy in the important gift and home industry."
In 2007, The Chicago Market: Living & Giving will be held Friday through Thursday, Jan. 19–25, with temporary exhibits open Sunday through Wednesday, Jan. 21–24.
