Carolina Mirror to resurface for larger retailers

An agreement has been reached for Wall Decor Manufacturing Co., based in Shenzhen, China, to design, manufacture and market a line of mirrors and home accents to key larger retailers under the Carolina Mirror name.
Gardner Glass, which acquired the Carolina Mirror brand in 2002, ceased selling to independents under that name in late 2005, according to Jim Archibald, sales director of decorative products. The new agreement, he said, will focus on larger retailers.
Tammy and Jim McCain, owners of Wall Decor Manufacturing, started their own factory four years ago. Tammy McCain, president of WDM, previously worked for The Uttermost Co. and Jim McCain, lead designer, has been associated with his family furniture manufacturing company in Australia. Teresa McCollum, also formerly with The Uttermost Co. and with Bassett Mirror, is sales manager for WDM in the United States.
"We approached Carolina Mirror on this collaborative effort," Tammy McCain said, "and we think it is a great opportunity for both of us. To brand our McCain-designed and Chinese-manufactured products with the name Carolina Mirror will give our retail customers an additional edge for their respective marketplace." Carolina Mirror has been in business for more than 70 years.
"Now we are making a great American brand in China with the most competitive styling and cost structure in the world," she said. In addition, with the support of Jim Archibald and David Mastin and the logistics of Carolina Mirror, we have the infrastructure to ensure service, speed and efficiency for communication and delivery for all our customers in the U.S."
