York named editor of Home Accents Today

Jenny Heinzen York has been promoted to editor of Home Accents Today from her position as managing editor, effective May 1.

"Jenny has done an outstanding job as managing editor of this magazine," said Becky Boswell Smith, editor in chief, "And it is a natural progression for her to assume the additional duties as editor."

The magazine has continued to grow, adding new sections, more issues and more dailies, increasing York's role and responsibilities. In addition to daily issues published at the twice-annual High Point Market and Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, Home Accents Today now publishes dailies at the winter and summer Las Vegas markets. Two Best of Market issues following the High Point markets, a Buyers Guide and an end-of-year economic wrap-up issue raise the national issue count to 16.

York also has been responsible for significant growth in the online presence of HAT, including adding pre- and post-market newsletters for the High Point, Atlanta and Las Vegas markets.

York joined the HAT staff three years ago after stints as managing editor of SoHo Today and Kids Today and on the copy desk of Furniture/Today. York has a degree in journalism from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
