Michael Ricks has been promoted to president of Furniture Classics Limited, an importer of antique reproduction furniture.
He previously served as the company's vice president and general counsel.
Ricks joined Furniture Classics in 2002, after practicing law for three years. He reports directly to R. Douglas Ricks, his father and CEO of the company. The elder Ricks resigned his presidency this year.
"This is an amazing opportunity to follow in my father's footsteps and continue to expand the Furniture Classics business. During my tenure, I have immersed myself in every aspect of the business. From operations in warehousing and trucking, to back office, to overseas sourcing and vendor management, I've done a little bit of everything," Ricks said.
In other news, former sales manager Alex Boyer has been named vice president of sales and marketing.
Ricks and Boyer have both been diligently working with their product development team on a number of new product offerings that they will preview during this summer's markets in Atlanta and Las Vegas and launch in earnest during the fall High Point Market.
Over the past year, Furniture Classics has introduced a new casual division, Two Palms Casual, opened a Las Vegas showroom and doubled its Atlanta and High Point showroom presence. In May, Furniture Classics mailed its first-ever catalog to more than 2,000 current dealers.
