Currey & Company promotes Wabler to president, Kelly moves to consultant role

Staff -- Home Accents Today, 9/1/2007

Barry E. Wabler has been named the new president of Currey & Company. Former President Marion Kelly, who joined the company in 2003, remains associated with Currey & Company as a consultant in sales and marketing.

The appointment was announced today by Robert B. Currey, CEO and founder of the company, which manufactures lighting products and accent furniture.

Wabler came to Currey & Company in November 2006 as chief financial officer. Previously, he was with Hotel Equities, an Atlanta-based hotel development and management company, where he served as CFO for seven years.

"Currey & Company is successful because we understand it's about product, people and pleasing the customer," Wabler said. "I am eager to help us expand our influence through distinctive design, exemplary service and business growth to the benefit of customers, owners and employees."

During his career, Wabler has directed business operations, including customer service, new business development, acquisitions and strategic planning. His experience includes seven years with Arthur Andersen & Co., where he managed client engagements and relationships. He also served as chief operating officer of F.A.B., Inc., a large national foodservice organization serving independent distributors. During his tenure with Hotel Equities, the company received Top Ten recognition by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of "Atlanta's Best Places to Work" for three out of five years.
