The International Home Furnishings Center in High Point has announced plans to adapt the building’s third floor for temporary exhibitors of decorative accessories and home accents.
Pavilions on 3 will include room for up to 40 new exhibitors in spaces that will range from 300 to 1,500 square feet. The renovated floor is scheduled to open for the Spring High Point Market in April 2008.
“The quick and overwhelming response confirms the demand for space, as much as the importance of showing innovative merchandise in a premier location with strong buyer traffic,” said Thomas M. Lindh, IHFC president and chief executive officer.
IHFC also plans to relocate furniture showrooms on the bridge to the Green-Wrenn wings to create more space for the home accents category on the third floor. Together, Pavilions on 3 and the new showroom space will offer about 40,000 additional square feet for accessories and home accents.
With the primary entrance at the bridge linking IHFC’s Main Building to the Green-Wrenn wings, Pavilions On 3 will be a self-sufficient exhibition area, featuring a restaurant, bistro-cappuccino bar and two separate elevator banks.
“As soon as we learned about IHFC’s plans, we wanted in because we will have the best of both worlds, being in a high traffic showroom building and having an open space where there’s no mystery to what we are selling,” said Sam Pasha Kural, of Pasha Home Fashions.
For J.I.J. Designs, moving into IHFC “is about value,” said Isak Varol, president. “We want to be in a place where value means high traffic, next to other accessories exhibitors and where we believe this floor will really stir up more excitement with retailers.”
“When I saw the floor plan, I knew this space would be a winner,” said Stephen West, president of Hamilton Studio. “With such a primary entrance off the bridge, I realized that each space would be prime because retailers would come in and shop the entire floor.”
