Capel, manufacturer and importer of area rugs, recently hired Colleen Stoutnar as its new marketing coordinator. She will be responsible for managing all national marketing efforts for the Capel brand.

Stoutnar joins the company with more than 15 years of sales and marketing experience, most recently as the regional sales and marketing coordinator for Starwood Properties.

Before that, she handled public relations and special events for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation in Chicago.

Stoutnar has a BFA in historic preservation with a minor in interior design from the Savannah College of Art and Design.

In 2003, she launched her own high-end faux finishing business called Artistic Faux and Design out of Lee County, Fla.

She remains a principal holder of the company.
