Nova Lighting, designer of larger scale contemporary lighting fixtures, mirrors, clocks and accent furniture, is opening a new showroom in Zhongshan, China, in January 2008.
The Huntington Park, Calif.-based company discovered that a large number of its international buyers were traveling to China to source for lighting and decided it was important to have a presence there. “This provides us with a way to truly show off our line in a well merchandised space that fits conveniently into their busy travel schedules,” said Daniel Edelist, president of Nova.
The new 15,000 sq. ft. facility will house a 5,000 sq. ft. showroom and office and meeting space, as well as a large prototype area. The company recently expanded its U.S. warehouse in Los Angeles from 65,000 square feet to 112,000 square feet.
Both the China move and the L.A. warehouse expansion are part of a full-scale expansion strategy geared to take Nova’s product offerings beyond lamps to include an assortment of home accents and furnishings.
