W.A.C. Lighting hosted the grand opening of its global manufacturing campus in QingXi, DongGuan, China on Nov. 3. The opening of this company-owned facility marks the firm's major expansion from a smaller factory and 10 years of manufacturing its product line abroad, company officials said.
W.A.C., a designer and manufacturer of track, recessed, under-cabinet, decorative and monorail lighting, hosted the day's events with a ribbon cutting, parade, reception and dinner celebration.
“Aiming high as a global leader is not necessarily defined as a company generating the highest revenue, but instead, a firm that prides itself on developing the most innovative designs and advanced technology,” said Tony Wang, CEO and company founder.
The new facility encompasses more than 750,000 square feet and will employ 2,500 people. It includes several buildings for manufacturing and distribution, as well as a modern office building for administration, research and development, testing and more.
A lighting application, showroom/training center, covering more than 20,000 square feet, will display and demonstrate the firm's complete product line. A testing center offers a full range of tests to meet UL-certified quality standards.
