Kirkland's president resigns, company announces
Retail veteran Catherine David joined company in 2006

Kirkland’s, Inc. announced on Monday that Catherine David, the company’s president and chief operating officer, has resigned effective immediately. Robert Alderson, Kirkland’s chief executive officer, will assume David’s responsibilities, and the company does not currently intend to seek a replacement.
David came to Kirkland’s in 2006 from Sears Holdings where she was senior vice president and general manager of Sears Essentials, Sears Grand and The Great Indoors. Prior to Sears, she was president of The Burnes Group, a former division of Newell-Rubbermaid, and had served as a merchant and operations executive at Target Corp.
Kirkland’s, Inc., based in Jackson, Tenn., was founded in 1966 and is a leading specialty retailer of home decor in the United States. Although originally focused in the Southeast, the company currently operates 360 stores in 37 states. The company’s stores carry a broad selection of distinctive merchandise, including framed art, mirrors, candles, lamps, picture frames, accent rugs, garden accessories and artificial floral products.
