New N.Y. show calls for exhibitors

One of a Kind Show applications due in March

-- Home Accents Today, 1/18/2008 11:55:00 AM

Top artists, artisans and designers who create original work and sell to the wholesale market are invited to apply to exhibit at the new One of a Kind Wholesale Show in New York City, Aug. 16-19. The show’s application is now online at zapplication.org and accessible via oneofakindshow.com.

Building on the success of the One of a Kind Show and Sale, an annual consumer shopping extravaganza at Chicago’s Merchandise Mart, the One of a Kind Wholesale Show will be held in the Market Suites @ 7 W on the 11th floor of 7 W New York during New York Gift Week. The show will provide an opportunity for high-quality artists and artisans to bring their works to the gift and home accessories industry. The show will also offer independent retailers greater ability to differentiate themselves by bringing consumers more one-of-a-kind product.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for artists to get into the retail market,” said Joan Ulrich, senior vice president, Merchandise Mart Properties, Inc. “There is no place better than 7 W New York to reach premier buyers.”

7 W New York is New York City’s high-design and style center for the nation’s buyers of elegant home decor, textiles, tabletop, decorative accessories and giftware.

Applications are due March 15 and will be juried by a selection committee. For more information, contact Kathleen Hogan at khogan@mmart.com or 312-527-7642.
