Room to Bloom
-- Home Accents Today, 2/1/2008
Flowers hit a high note this season, proving that this perennial classic has plenty of room for growth as a style phenomenon. Brightly hued, generous blooms are the first to demand attention, but neutral, elegant blossoms hold their own in terms of chic sophistication. Don't discount exotic varietals either, especially those of Asian persuasion. — Tracy Bulla

Japonica, a delicate watercolor botanical print from Belle Arte, seamlessly blends the divergent styles of Asian and Mission with a quarter-sawn oak frame that is hand-stained and joined with dove-tailed dowels ($300).

Oriental Accent's Paloma panel presents a bountiful bouquet hand-painted on wood to resemble real tiles ($430).

Chinoiserie reigns in the new collection of custom-framed, hand-painted silk wallpapers from Jardins en Fleur ($600 to $3,500).

Featuring a green patina oxide border, Sunflower #2 from A House in the Country exudes rustic cheer on canvas stretched against wooden bars.

Studio Vertu prints images directly onto a maple veneer or brushed aluminum surface using a dye-sublimation process, such as the nostalgic, yet modern, Anemone from photographer Deborah Schenk ($120 to $200).
