Sam Abell new president of Courtney Davis

Licensing agency Courtney Davis Inc. has announced that Sam Abell has assumed the role of president. Founder Linda Balogh will remain chief executive officer.

Since joining Courtney Davis in 2005, Abell has worked closely with Balogh to expand and enhance licensed lines, as well as identify artists who can offer unique art that will appeal to their broad base of licensees and product categories.

“Sam brings a highly developed mix of business and creative skills that make him an ideal leader for Courtney Davis,” Balogh said. “His oversight of our Franklin, Tenn., headquarters and key account stewardship will help lead Courtney Davis into an exciting and successful future. With this change, I plan to refocus my efforts on new business development and product ideation.”
