Furniture manufacturer Carolina Accents has bought a 230,000-sq.-ft. building in Ripley, Miss., that formerly was part of a Berkline/BenchCraft furniture plant.
A grand opening and ribbon-cutting is scheduled for the facility on April 28. County officials said the company plans to add some 125 jobs in the next few months.
The Northeast Mississippi Daily Journal quoted Joy Kirk, whose North Carolina-based company called Kirkwood was sold earlier to Carolina Accents, as saying the company is looking forward to future growth and that its markets are strong. Kirk, who remains with Carolina Accents as vice president, said the company expects to develop new products in the Ripley facility.
