Napp Deady closes Americasmart, High Point showrooms

Home Accents Industry News

Longtime sales and rep agency Napp Deady has closed its showrooms in Atlanta's Americasmart and High Point's International Home Furnishings Center.

“I do not intend at this point to continue at this time as a rep agency,” Carol Deady, owner and president, told Home Accents Today.

The agency had occupied a 21,000-sq.-ft. space on the 11th floor of the Americasmart Gift building, as well as a 15,000-sq.-ft. space in the Commerce Wing of the IHFC.

Terence Morris, senior vice president of gift leasing for Americasmart, said the space will be put to use immediately and be ready for the July show.

“We look forward to showcasing new product with new exhibitors now committed to this prime space,” Morris said.

Morris said some of the space would be converted into a Green Product Showcase, and that four of Napp Deady's vendors would stay in the space through the July show. They are Bella Rose by Chateau, Decorative Arts, Ibolili and Glass Nuvo. Plans for the remainder of the space have not been finalized.

“We are definitely going to make that space usable for the July market,” Morris said.

Other Napp Deady vendors have moved to temporary spaces, the Gardens or new rep groups, and one has pulled out of Atlanta altogether, Deady said.

Napp Deady was founded in 1962 by Carol Deady's late husband, Jack Deady.

“I want to thank all the wonderful customers for 46 years for all their support,” Deady said, adding that she has no plans to retire and will stay active in the industry.
