NY Home Textiles Market Week announces Best New Product award winners
Andrew Morgan Collection receives 'Best of Market'

Best New Product Awards were presented in four categories to winners and finalists selected from over 100 entries at the New York Home Textiles Market Week. A panel of trade and consumer editors selected the winners based on innovation in design and creative use of materials/construction and new fiber, material or technology.
The Best of Market award went to the Andrew Morgan Collection, Mt Vernon, N.Y., for its Palace Gates sustainable knitted blanket (photo, right). Made of 100% innova polypropylene, the blanket is stain-resistant, anti-bacterial, thermal conductive and can be reduced completely to its original form.
Best Product Award winners for their categories were:
Bed
Winner: Cuddledown, Portland, Maine, for its limited edition
World's Lightest Comforter, designed with a lightweight durable shell of 100% combed cotton German Batiste and filled with pure 900 fill power European white goose down (photo, left).
Finalist: Luxe Brands International, Toronto, Canada, for its Malaike silk-piped bedding collection.
Finalist: Plover Organic, Portland, Ore., for its organic-certified cotton bedding collection.
Bath
Winner: Matteo, Los Angeles, Calif., for its Ida Baby Bathrobe, made of quilted organic linen with low-impact dyes. The use of garment-washed technology adds softness while creating a vintage look to the robe.
Finalist: Forza & Home Turkish Towel Collection, Berkeley, Calif., for its hand-loomed waffle towel.
Finalist: Matouk, Fall River, Mass., for its Orlo Towel Collection.
Dining
Winner: Settings by Mona, Las Vegas, Nev., for its fringe tablecloth and chair cap. Made of 100% cotton organdy and linen, the hand-embroidered tablecloth has a built-in napkin ring holder and is machine washable.
Finalist: Alexandre Turpault, Paris, France, for its Ambre tablecloth.
Finalist: Pom Pom at Home, Los Angeles, Calif., for its Belle napkin and placemat.
Home Accessories 
Winner: Shades of India, Noida, India, for its Moonbeam Cushion Cover (photo, right). The cotton velvet pillow is covered in different sized mirrors, all of which are lined by metallic threads.
Finalist: Fino Lino, Ocean, N.J., for its Anniversary Patchwork Pillow.
Finalist: Sheets & Co., New York, N.Y., for its Silk Trading Company's Drapery-by-Design Boutique Collection
"The innovation and creativity of these finalist and winning products is most remarkable," said Penny Sikalis, vice president, GLM. "These products set a new standard for excellence in home fashions products."

New York Home Textiles Market Week offers buyers access to nearly 500 better bed, bath, linen and home products vendors at the New York International Gift Fair. Products represented include bed and bath fashions, table linens, kitchen textiles, towels, decorative accessories, area rugs, window treatments and decorative fabrics.The next edition will take place Jan. 23-29, 2009.
