Selamat Designs, a designer and manufacturer of high-end occasional furniture and accessories, is seeking to acquire or partner with furniture and accessory companies that can help complement its existing product lines.
Selamat Designs is searching for accent furniture companies, residential and commercial accessory companies and outdoor furniture companies that may be seeking an exit from the current tumultuous market conditions.
“This is a tough environment for everyone in the furniture business,” said Thatcher Davis, president of Selamat Designs. “But we are long-term players, and are looking to use this downturn to find ways to expand our brand by acquiring or partnering with companies with complementary product lines who are seeking a partial or total exit from the market.”
Davis said the company is focused on continued growth and believes that finding synergies with like-minded companies and creating more economies of scale with vendors will better position it for the long term.
“The economic environment and consequently the home furnishings market has totally changed in the last year,” he said. “Because of this, we have to change the way we look at achieving market growth while simultaneously being very mindful of keeping expenses in check.”
