ICA Home Decor has acquired Art in Motion, effective this month.
Art in Motion will keep its brand identity and name and operate as a division of ICA.
ICA has been in business for more than 28 years as a framed graphics producer, but only last year launched a wholesale division for independent home and gift retailers, as well as furniture chains.
Its product lineup includes wall decor, pillows, rugs and decorative accessories. It is based in Compton, Calif., and also has operations in China and India.
ICA has three other divisions, Intercontinental Art, Michael Alan and Gallery. The Gallery line is the one marketed to the independent retailers with all production for it based in California.
Art in Motion’s production will be moved to that facility, but the Canadian offices will remain open for sales, marketing, design and other front-end business operations.
All products will now be shipped from the California operation.
Art In Motion was established in 1985 and is an art publisher and wall decor manufacturer.
“Our sales teams have been working hard to familiarize themselves with this new partnership,” said ICA Home Decor CEO Kristoff Honeyman. “Every effort will be made to have a seamless transition so that all customers get the products they need.”
Both companies will combine Web sites and online catalogs. Currently, Art In Motion products can be found at artinmotion.com. ICA Home Decor’s new site, ica-art.com, launches this month.
In Atlanta this week, ICA Home Decor and Art In Motion are exhibiting side by side in Building 2 on the 10th floor in showrooms 1019 and 1021. Market attendees are invited to celebrate with both showrooms on Friday, Jan. 9, from 4-7 p.m. “Market attendees can mingle with artists, browse our new collections and get to know this new partnership,” Honeyman said.
Art In Motion is debuting a new Home Collection featuring decorative accessories, vases, photo frames and mirrors to complement its wall decor offerings.
According to a press release about the acquisition, independent retailers ordering Art In Motion and ICA Home Decor products will contact Art In Motion’s customer service department. Large National Accounts will continue to contact their individual contacts at both ICA Home Decor and Art In Motion.
In addition to Atlanta, Art In Motion and ICA Home Decor will attend the CGTA show in Toronto and the Las Vegas Market in February.
“As one company, we are creating a stronger future. With more than 50 years of combined expertise, this new partnership in art and design brings retailers more creative choices,” Honeyman said. “The brands you love are here and better than ever. Our focus remains on providing you with the best products and the highest level of customer service and support.”
