During the opening weekend of the Winter 2009 New York International Gift Fair, the board of Gift for Life is hosting its Stakes Are High Casino, Sunday, Jan. 25th from 6-10 p.m. at La.venue at Terminal Stores, 608 W. 28th Street at 11th Avenue. The event benefits DIFFA: Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS, Gift for Life’s sole charity partner, and will offer gaming, food, drink music and dancing. Tickets are priced at $150 and sponsorships range from $500 to $25,000. Gift for Life was founded in 1992 by a small group of industry professionals compelled to respond to the loss of friends and colleagues. Since its founding, the group has raised $4 million for the fight against AIDS. Gift for Life maintains a database of approximately 4,000 donors nationwide. For more information on Stakes are High, Gift for Life or DIFFA, visit https://diffa.org/giftforlife.asp.

Following the success of last summer’s event during the New York Gift and Home Textiles Market weeks, 7 W New York announces the return of its International Buyer Appreciation Day. Co-sponsored by the 7 W Exhibitors Association, the building will fete international buyers on Jan. 23rd and 24th with showroom specials, giveaways, raffles and pre-show tours.

“We value all of our customers; however, we created this special day to recognize the importance of a thriving relationship with the global trade community,” said 7 W Vice President and General Manager Chris Collins. “Since the launch of International Day last summer, we have nearly doubled our pool of International attendees. Combined with a series of new initiatives that enhance the shopping experience, we are confident that our efforts will result in continued success in building a larger base of international buyers.

7 W is extending International Appreciation Day to cover a two-day period. Buyers at 7 W will find incentives including in-suite events and receptions, a goodie bag, a lounge area with complimentary refreshments and concierge services, an E-Catalog Gallery, and an online planning tool. Additional information is available at http://www.7wnewyork.com
