High Point market attendees advised to reserve rental cars early

The High Point Market Authority is encouraging market-goers who plan to rent a car at the Piedmont Triad Airport in Greensboro to reserve their vehicles now in order to benefit from special discounts on rental rates for early bookings.
“We’re continually working to make a trip to the High Point Market as affordable as possible for retailers, manufacturers, suppliers and sales representatives,” said Brian D. Casey, HPMA president and CEO. “Given the speed and convenience of our free downtown shuttle system, and our free airport shuttles from the Piedmont Triad International Airport (as well as the airports in Raleigh and Charlotte), many market-goers have found that it’s no longer necessary to rent a car during market. However, we urge those that still require rental cars to take advantage of the special time-sensitive rates we have negotiated by booking now, especially since there are no fees or penalties to cancel a reservation.”
According to Casey, Enterprise is offering discounted rental car rates through Feb. 15, 2009. Rates begin at $37 per day for a compact car, with prices rising gradually depending on the size of the vehicle. Thrifty is offering a rate of $44 per day on compacts through Feb. 28, 2009, with prices gradually increases for larger sizes. Budget, offers the lowest car rental rate without any time limit and is currently offering a rate of $31 per day for compact cars booked using the market discount code.
