George Van Ess has been named president of home furnishings producer Palecek.

Allan Palecek will remain CEO and continue to focus on creating Palecek's signature designs.

Van Ess has been with Palecek for more than 17 years, first acting as vice president of sales and marketing. In 2005, he became vice president and general manager of the new Contract Furnishings Division.

"George has 30 years of experience in the home furnishings industry, making him an invaluable asset to Palecek," said Allan Palecek. "In the many years he has been with us, George has made incredible contributions to the company. In his new role as president, we're certain he'll continue to do the same for the operation of the company as a whole."
