20th Annual ARTS Awards winners announced

Dallas Market Center and the Accessories Resource Team announced the winners of the 20th annual ARTS Awards at a gala event during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market last month.
Awards were presented in 25 categories and recognized Academy of Achievement honoree Murray Feiss, chairman of the board at Generation Brands. Opening remarks were provided by Bill Winsor and Cindy Morris, president/CEO and COO of Dallas Market Center, respectively. Other presenters included Sharon Davis, executive director of ART; Colleen Visage, ART president and director of product development at Progress Lighting; Harvey Hollingsworth, former ART president and current president of The Natural Light; and Christi Proctor, TLC's Trading Spaces interior designer and owner of Home Place Interiors.
Winsor offered congratulations to the winners. "It's an honor to recognize the decorative accessories industry and partner with ART each year in Dallas," he said.
The ARTS Awards are presented each January during the Dallas Total Home & Gift Market to recognize and honor excellence from retailers, manufacturers, sales reps and designers in the decorative accessories industry. Manufacturers are nominated by retailers, sales reps, designers, suppliers and consultants. Retailers and the Rising Star Award are nominated by manufacturers and sales reps. Sales reps are nominated by manufacturers and retailers. Product designers are nominated by all. The Academy of Achievement honoree is selected by the ARTS Awards committee each year. Companies that have won the ARTS Awards five or more times will be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Hall of Fame members include C.S. Wo & Sons, Distinctive Designs International Inc., Fine Art Lamps, Montaage, Natural Decorations Inc., Palecek, Robb & Stucky and Schonbek Worldwide Lighting.
Murray Feiss, chairman of Generation Brands, received the Academy of Achievement Award during the 20th annual ARTS Awards ceremony in January Vince Glassco, Malanta Glassco-Knowles and Lendell Glassco accept the ARTS Award for wall decor on behalf of Paragon. Cindy Morris and Bill Winsor of the Dallas Market Center kick off the gala event. Allan Palecek accepts the Outdoor Living honor for Palecek. Selamat Designs, represented by President Thatcher Davis(right), was named top manufacturer of accent furniture. Mark Abrams took home the Product Designer honors. Jim Hering and Ron Werner of HW Home in Colorado accept the award for the Midwest/Southwest Furniture Store category.
