Charlottesville, Va. — The Monticello Museum Shop at the new 42,000-sq.-ft. Thomas Jefferson Visitor Center opened to visitors in November. The shop features an expanded collection of books, home decor, gourmet food products, games and toys, Virginia wines, posters, prints, collectibles and souvenirs. The museum shop also features the Hoel Perkins Garden Center offering Monticello's popular heirloom plants and seeds plus an extensive collection of garden decor and accessories. The Visitor Center's grand opening celebration is scheduled for April 2009.
Birmingham, Mich. — Stacey Leuliette Gracious Living opened at 235 Pierce in downtown.
Suwanee, Ga. — Home Accents 4U opened in December at 80 Horizon Drive, offering home accessories, jewelry and imported wines.
Boston — Mohr & McPherson opened a home furnishings store in a refurbished 1880s factory at 460 Harrison Ave.
Los Angeles — Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe, Los Angeles decorators and owners of NK Interiors, opened home furnishings store, NK Shop, at 730 North Highland Ave. The shop carries a mix of new accessories along with antique lighting and furniture.
Washington, D.C. — Icon Studio opened at 1821 14th St., N.W. The design studio features contemporary lighting, furniture and architectural elements.
El Paso, Texas — Casa Bella Home Furnishings closed its East Side store at 1145 Westmoreland and reopened at Bassett Place. Owners John and Martha Salom have another Casa Bella store at 500 N. Zaragoza, which will remain open. The Saloms plan to hire seven more employees for the 25,000-sq.-ft. Bassett Place store.
Redmond, Ore. — Interior designer Angie Bradley opened Area Home Furnishings & Design at 418 S.W. Sixth St. in December.
Scottsdale, Ariz. — Azalea Decor and Gifts home boutique celebrated its grand opening Jan. 17. The store, located at 6926 E. Main St., carries contemporary and eclectic home furnishings, jewelry and gifts.
Walkersville, Md. — Lynette Hasselgren opened Wild Rose Home Decor & Studio. Hasselgren, a former designer and manager at Marshall Fields, recently won a Home Improvement Challenge sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens magazine. The store carries home accessories, candles, lamps, decorative pillows and furniture.
Winter Garden, Fla. — Online retailer Redtree Imports launched in November. The company offers a selection of Asian decor, wall art and gifts.
Falls Church, Va. — BOVA contemporary furnishings retailer has opened a location on Arlington Blvd. at Loehmann's Plaza.
Columbus, Neb. — Joan Campbell opened Finely Home Decor & Gifts at 3100 23rd St. The store carries a variety of accessories including candles, furniture and tabletop.
Glendale, Ariz. — Boozhee specialty home decor shop opened at 17750 N. 75th Ave. carrying items in Tuscan, Spanish and Old World styles. The shop, previously called Decor Source, was located for five years near 59th Ave.
Little Rock, Ark. — Park Hill Home, a new lifestyle store by the creators of Park Hill Collection, celebrated its grand opening in November.
Tysons Corner, Va. — Italian contemporary furniture and accessories maker Jesse opened its first showroom at Tysons Galleria.
