Accessory manufacturers Picture Galleries, Wendover Art Group, Company C, Chinawind USA, J Douglas, Roma and Hebi Arts have relocated from other High Point properties to the International Home Furnishings Center building.
Roma is showing in the IHFC’s Design Center, third floor. Vice-President of Sales Tony Gareri commented on the company’s move from the Suites at Market Square, “This is our 25th year. That’s a big deal for us, so we looked at our business which has been strong, our product which is the best, most cutting edge in the industry, and we decided we needed the best location in High Point. We wanted to be in the mecca.” Gareri said the company will bring a new line to IHFC. “Eighty percent of the showroom will be new product. That’s the commitment we make.”
Sales rep group J Douglas also joins the IHFC Design Center third floor from the Suites at Market Square. The company represents manufacturers of furniture, accessories and home accents. Owner Doug Self cited the importance of being in front of his client’s customers for the move to IHFC. “With the movement in the industry today, we think we’ll be well positioned (with IHFC). Also important, we represent five other lines in that building so proximity to them is important.” Self said he is encouraged by the current market conditions because he caters to the design trade, “and they remain busy. And IHFC attracts the largest numbers of them, consistently, throughout the High Point Market.”
“We have a high-end product, and we’re launching a new metal sculpture collection this spring,” said Daryl Wong, owner of Hebi Arts. “We want to benefit from the increased exposure and to be around other brands that are high-end like us.” Hebi Arts, specialists in contemporary home décor and accessories by Asian artisans, formerly exhibited at Showplace. Their new showroom will be on the fourth floor of the IHFC’s Design Center.
Concord, N.H.-based Company C, known for handcrafted rugs, bedding and textiles is also now on the Design Center’s fourth floor. President Walter Chapin said, “IHFC is truly a hallmark stop that very few buyers miss. Company C will benefit from the increased visibility and accessibility.” Company C relocated from Suites at Market Square.
Also moving from the Suites at Market Square, Chinawind USA brings their decorative Aubusson pillows, tapestries and chair cushions. The Glendale, Calif. company’s new showroom is on the third floor of Hamilton Wing.
Idaho-based Picture Galleries, manufacturer of framed art and wall décor, is showing their line from a new space on the fourth floor of the Design Center.
Clearwater, Fla.'s Wendover Art Group specializes in large, framed high-end wall décor. Their new showroom is located on the second floor of the Commerce Wing.
