Industry veterans Michael Yip and designer Mark Abrams have teamed to launch Port 68, a company offering product in several home furnishings categories.
Port 68 introductions of more than 200 SKUs in home accessories, lighting and accent furniture will debut at the spring High Point Market April 25-30.
“In forming Port 68, Michael and I feel that there is a void in the marketplace for classic, designer-driven product that is visually merchandised with a clear point of view,” Abrams said. “By offering a tight collection, we plan to seasonally layer in color and texture with on-trend designed items that are right for the retailer and designer.”
Abrams won the 2008 ARTS Award product designer of the year announced in January. Yip was most recently vice president for Oriental Accent, where he worked for 19 years.
PORT 68 plans to open showrooms in all major markets, beginning in High Point at IHFC’s Interhall, booth 108.
