The High Point Market Authority is teaming with senior trade specialists from the U.S. Commercial Service to present an exclusive Web cast for Market exhibitors focused on export opportunities.
The webcast, entitled, “Going Global: Exploring Export Opportunities in Furniture,” is scheduled for March 19 at 2 p.m. (EST).
According to Brian D. Casey, president and chief executive officer of the High Point Market Authority, who will serve as moderator for the event, the special online presentation is designed to assist High Point Market exhibitors in realizing their full export potential.
“With its network of offices across the U.S. and in more than 80 countries, the U.S. Commercial Service utilizes its global presence and international marketing expertise to help U.S. companies sell their products and services worldwide,” Casey said.
“Along with an in-depth look at how manufacturers can make the most of the International Buyer Program during the upcoming Spring Market, our panel of experts, led by Juanita Harthun, senior international trade specialist, Charlotte, N.C., U.S. Commercial Service, will focus on the information manufacturers need to expand their horizons beyond U.S. borders, no matter what their previous experience level may be in the global marketplace,” Casey said.
Casey and Harthun will be joined during the hour-long web event by Scott Bozek, principle commercial officer, Toronto, Canada, U.S. Commercial Service, and Alicia Zayas, commercial specialist, Guadalajara, Mexico, U.S. Commercial Service.
The panel will provide insights into the myriad business services offered by the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service, which range from supplying world-class, industry-specific market research completed by locally engaged specialists to introductions to qualified buyers and distributors from all over the globe. Other topics to be covered during the discussion include market-entry strategies in the most favorable areas, the differences between Free Trade and Zero for Zero agreements and financing, as well as documentary requirements, terms of payment, labeling and international commercial terms (INCO).
A live question and answer session follows the presentation. The Web cast, sponsored by the High Point Market Authority, is free to all High Point Market exhibitors, and manufacturers should disregard any requests for credit card/payment information when registering.
