Four retailers will win tickets to see the New York Mets play in their inaugural baseball season at the all-new Citi Field during the summer 2009 New York International Gift Fair.
Through NYIGF's "Take Me Out to the Ball Game!" promotion, two retailers will be selected at random to win two free tickets each to the Mets' Monday, Aug. 17, game against the San Francisco Giants. In addition to tickets for the 7:10 p.m. game, the prize also includes one-way transportation to Citi Field and $20 in pocket money. The tickets were donated by John Buttine Insurance.
"NYIGF offers attendees the opportunity to experience the best of New York City," said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president. "Attending a Mets game - during the inaugural season in the new stadium - is a quintessential New York experience."
To qualify for the drawing, retailers must visit Pier 94 (home of NYIGF's At Home division) and deposit completed entry forms. These entry forms will be available at all NYIGF registration counters at the Javits Center and Pier 94. The winners will be selected at 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 17, and need not be present to win.
This will be the National League team's first season in the new 42,000-seat stadium located in the borough of Queens, close to its former home, Shea Stadium. The open-air ballpark features natural grass, state-of-the-art video boards and sound system, and seating angled toward the infield and set down closer to the field. Detailed team information is available at www.Mets.com.
The summer show runs Saturday, Aug. 15, through Thursday, Aug. 20, at New York City's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94.
