Phoenix — Urban Living, a new home decor store, recently opened at Kierland Commons, 15054 N. Scottsdale Road. Owned by Garry Smith, the store carries furniture, art, candles, home fragrance and home accessories.

Holland, Mich. — Canterbury Cottage, in business since 1996, has expanded to 48 West Eighth St. The store features home decor and interior design services and carries upholstered furniture, lamps, tables, pillows, candleholders, and children's furniture, bedding, and clothing. Also in Holland, Elizabeth Austin Fine Linens and Interiors will open at 25 West 9th St. in September. The store specializes in custom window treatments and linens for bed, bath and table.

Soho, N.Y. — Milan Luxury recently celebrated the grand opening of its flagship store at 57 Greene St. The luxury outlet offers online and offline private sales, excess inventory and past collections from home decor brands such as Bellora, Bellino, Missoni Home, Oscar de La Renta Home, Vellum, Martino & Rodrigues, Richard Ginori, Fattoria Belcanto Organic Soaps and Erbe Beauty.

Aspen, Colo. — MacKenzie-Childs opened a 1,500-sq.-ft. dedicated store at Aspen's Amen Wardy Home store on May 29, showcasing more than 500 products including hand-crafted ceramics and enamel tableware, furniture and home accessories. "Aspen is an influential and significant market for luxury brands," said Lee Feldman, CEO of MacKenzie-Childs. "Amen Wardy is known internationally as one of the finest home stores. We could not have a better place to present MacKenzie-Childs in Aspen, and we're quite pleased with the confidence this demonstrates in our brand."

London — Also in May, MacKenzie-Childs opened its first international location at Harrods in London in 500 square feet of shopping space on the department store's second level. "Harrods is thrilled to be offering the MacKenzie-Childs range within our Contemporary Dining department. We are proud to be the exclusive UK stockist for this iconic brand," said David Miller, Harrods' director of Home, Furniture, Sound & Vision and Toys. MacKenzie-Childs operates retail stores in New York City, Palm Beach, and Aurora, N.Y.

Washington — Room & Board will expand into the D.C. market next spring with a 31,600-sq.-ft. showroom, its second on the East Coast. The store will be in the historic Taylor Motors Building at 14th and T Streets and will be Room & Board's 12th location — after the opening of another Southern California store this fall and including an outlet store that is open on weekends only.

Boston — New York fashion designer Cynthia Rowley has opened a new boutique at 164 Newbury St. Rowley's home accessories line, Swell, is sold at Target.

Pensacola, Fla. — The Bud Shack has relocated from Woodbine Road in Pace to a new location on 12th Ave. Owner Lori Austin is planning an event in early August to celebrate the shop's two-year anniversary and grand re-opening. The Bud Shack stocks plants, garden decor, home accessories and gifts.

San Luis Obispo, Calif. — An 8,000-sq.-ft. barn and showroom behind Pacific Coast Home & Garden at 2034 Santa Barbara St. recently reopened with an updated look and new inventory. Furniture made from reclaimed wood, garden planters, home accents, accessories, pottery and tableware are among the new selections.

Plano, Texas — Modia A/V and home furnishings chain has opened a showroom in Plano's Shops at Legacy. Founded as Home Theater Store in 1986, the family-run chain was renamed Modia ("adding emotion to media") in 2007. Modia's home furnishings brands include B & B Italia, Maxalto, Boffi, Agape and Ingo Maurer.

Chapel Hill, N.C. — Elizabeth Edwards, wife of former U.S. Sen. John Edwards, plans to open a furniture store in Chapel Hill's Rosemary Village in October, according to the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Center. The store, called Red Window, will feature a mix of styles and prices patterned after a charity store called The Red Door that Edwards' mother managed when she lived in Japan. The space is located at 400 W. Rosemary St.

Allentown, Pa. — Gail Gray Home interior design studio and home furnishings store opened in the Promenade Shops. The shop was formerly known as Accessories, Etc., and was located at the corner of Main and Broad Streets in Bethlehem.

Philadelphia — Interior decorator J. Lamancuso moved his Antiques Row shop, Hello World, to a larger space on Pine Street and has renamed the shop Hello Home to emphasize a stronger focus on shelter. The shop stocks Trina Turk rugs, reconditioned mid-century modern furniture, vintage art, contemporary lighting and glassware.

Philadelphia — Florist Donna O'Brien has opened Beautiful Blooms Boutique on Liberties Walk in Northern Liberties. Beautiful Blooms is modeled after the flower shops of London, with cut flowers, colorful vessels and vases, essential tools and tabletop items.

Fort Myers, Fla. — Art Etc. home decor store opened in Bonita Springs, in a 13,000-sq.-ft. space that formerly housed The Picture Factory. In addition to framed prints and paintings, Art Etc. carries home accessories.

Wayzata, Minn. — D.F.S. Home celebrated its grand opening May 22 in its location at 728 Lake St. Owned by Michael Miranda, D.F.S. (Design for Sale) Home carries home furnishings, tabletop, books and garden accessories.

Philadelphia — Jimmy Contreras opened Jimmy Style at 1820 E. Passyunk Ave. Jimmy Style features home accessories from Areaware and Jonathan Adler, candles by Votivo and Paddywax and locally made soaps from Duross & Langell.

Miami — Miami Mumbai, a boutique Indian art gallery, is open at 4471 SW 71st Ave., offering museum-quality home decor and items by master artisans, including Mithila art and the work of Baua Devi. Miami Mumbai is open to the general public and offers wholesale rates to the trade.
