Ikea 2010 catalog launches

July 29, 2009 -- Ikea’s new 2010 catalog makes its U.S. debut today and an onlineThis year’s catalog features lower prices on, and improvements to popular items, noted throughout the book. New home accessories and furniture items include votives, vases, candleholders and planters, a limited edition of Klippan sofas, an improved Poang chair with a wider selection of frames and fabrics to choose from, new adult bedding and furniture, and child-friendly mattress and bedding.
Considerable price cuts have been made to a number of items, such as:
Sultan Fidgetun queen memory foam mattress, down to $249 from last year's price of $349;
Karlstad loveseat, down to $479 from last year's $579;
Lack side table, down to $7.99 from last year's $12.99;
pair of Lenda curtains with tiebacks (55"x98"), now half-priced at $14.99/pair from last year's $29.99/pair.
In the opening pages, Ikea promises "new super deals every month" such as the three limit-one-per-customer deals calendared for August and September - $14.99 (regular price $29.99) for the Hajdeby swivel desk chair, $199 for the Sater sofa and $49 for a set of 3 nesting Martorp tables (regular price $99.99).
There are currently more than 290 Ikea stores in 36 countries, including 37 in the U.S., where new stores are being planned in Somerville, Mass. and Centennial, Co.
