New York’s Forty One Madison has announced several recent lease renewals.
Gibson Overseas is expanding its 10th floor permanent showroom, according to Laurie Burns, senior vice president and building director. The new space is 30% larger and will now occupy a half-floor. The remodeled expansion will debut at the October 2009 New York Tabletop Market which runs Oct. 13-16.
Gibson has exhibited in the building since 1993. “We are delighted Gibson has not only renewed its lease but is making a substantial investment in the upsized space with new fixtures, lighting and a fresh new look. To keep pace with their ever growing lines and categories, we are gratified to continue to play a part in Gibson’s success as they expand their cookware, licensing and private label businesses.”
Other renewed leases include:
Yamazaki Tableware, an early building tenant since 1980; Sango America, a leading brand in the housewares/tabletop category and tenant beginning in 1986; and Scafati & Company, distributor and importer of fine tableware, including Fortessa and Schott Zwiesel.
“I believe this harbinger of good news indicates a strong vote of confidence in both the tableware industry and Forty One Madison as its headquarters,” Burns said. “Our roster of companies is international in scope with leading names across the board, from luxury brands to high-end housewares. We have been pleased with the steady traffic in the building for the New York Gift Show and are looking forward to a well attended Spring Tabletop Market in April.”
It was previously announced that Lunt Silversmiths, Royal Crown Derby and Nikko Ceramics renewed leases at the end of December 2008.
