Lalique & Haviland Boutique opens in New York

Second boutique to open in Chicago in December

New York, N.Y. -- Lalique & Haviland opened the doors of its new flagLalique and Haviland flagship boutique, 609 Madison Ave., New Yorkship boutique at 609 Madison Ave. on November 5th. The 950-sq.-ft. space showcases Lalique crystal and Haviland porcelain including the new Lalique by Haviland collection, and designs in decorative home accents, tabletop, architectural elements and jewelry. A second boutique will open in Chicago in December.

The relationship between the two French companies began over 90 years ago when René Lalique’s daughter, Suzanne, married Paul Haviland, then-head of the Limoges porcelain line. Lalique and Haviland joined their U.S. operations this past Spring and announced a partnership with Daum in August.

Maz Zouhairi, president and CEO, Lalique and Haviland North America, said, “The new boutique represents the convergence of the rich legacies and creative visions of Lalique and Haviland. An informal partnership that originated nearly a century ago has now evolved into a joint flagship and collaboration of Lalique & Haviland boutique; cactus tableLalique and Haviland designs.”

The boutique will offer signature Haviland porcelain collections including this season’s art-deco inspired Cible, Ritz Imperial dinnerware set and new encrustation and relief introductions. The boutique also carries Lalique’s six-tier Champs-Elysees Chandelier, Seville Chandelier, Coutard and Laurel Panels, and a large-scale rectangular version of the Cactus Table (photo, right).

The Lalique by Haviland Limoges porcelain collection is exclusive to the boutique and Lalique by Haviland porcelain collectionencompasses three designs: Hirondelles and Perles, both offered in full table settings with coordinating coffee and tea service sets, and a third design based on the iconic Rene Lalique Masque de Femme that includes a tray and charger as accent pieces. The porcelain collections are complemented by Lalique tabletop items, also inspired by original Rene Lalique designs, such as the new Coutard and Hirondelles stemware colleMaz Zouhairi and Jamie Drake, Lalique & Haviland boutique, New Yorkctions, Masque de Femme candle votives and, Champs-Elysees crystal plates.

On November 4th, Zouhairi hosted a media breakfast and preview event in the new boutique. In the photo at right, Zouhairi is shown at the event with New York-based designer Jamie Drake.
