Web TV content provider The Gift & Home Channel is for sale, CEO Craig Park of Retailer Networks Inc. told Gifts & Decorative Accessories.
“We’re still operating. We’re here for our retailers and the community that we’ve developed. The only change really is that we realize that the best future for the business lies in the business being operated by a larger partner,” said Park. “This is a really attractive business for tradeshow groups, publishers and larger vendors. We have 43,000 members with collective revenues of over $10 billion dollars a year.”
In addition to its viewer base, the channel offers a potential purchaser 485 web videos on how to be a successful gift retailer, each containing one to three implementable concepts. A potential buyer could either purchase just the brand and other assets, or the whole company including staff. “We’ve got a team ready to go,” said Park, who declined to comment on the channel’s asking price.
The Gift & Home Channel was originally launched in 2007 as GiftChannel 1. GLM veteran Leslie Nathan Street became president of the GHC in February 2008, replacing interim president Ray Gaulke who stayed on as director of content development. Street and Gaulke left the GHC in July of this year.
Since its inception, the GHC has partnered with the Dallas Market Center, the Canadian Gift & Tableware Assn., even a town, as well as sponsoring contests, launching its own social media network and hosting content provided by vendors like Annalee Dolls.
