Lighting designer Tom Tucker dies
Was in China on product development trip

Lighting designer William Thomas “Tom” Tucker died Jan. 20 while in Zhangshan, China, on a business trip to prepare for the spring High Point Market. He was 55.Tucker was well known in the industry for his unique lighting designs. In the mid-1980s, he operated a shop, Five Points, in Raleigh, N.C. Since then he has traveled internationally, working with various furniture manufacturers, including Ardley Hall.
Tucker is survived by his wife, his mother, his sister and her husband.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105, or to a charity of one’s choice.
