Misewell Wins Coveted New Designer Award at 2009 ICFF
May 18, 2009

The belief that furniture should be simple, functional, and honest, has paid off handsomely for Milwaukee-based Misewell as this year’s winner of the ICFF Editors Award for New Designer. Founded in 2008 by brothers Vincent and Paul Georgeson, Misewell is committed to high quality design and production, and limiting the environmental impact of both. On top of that everything is manufactured in the U.S.
The Conrad coffee table is steel and solid walnut. The legs snap solidly into place thanks to the clever design and exacting finish of the bracket. These guys understand design is about improving both product and process as well as creating something you really want to have in your home.
The cleverly named Eileen is both wall lamp and floor lamp and my fave of their many products. This smart design not only turns your wall into the third leg of its tripod base but also gives it a hip MCM appeal reminiscent of Serge Mouille’s designs, though maybe a little more buttoned up.
I think this year’s panel chose well. You can check out Misewell here, and all the other ICFF winners here.
